A previous total or partial Knee Replacement may require revision surgery for many reasons.
Revision Knee Replacement surgery can be very challenging. The surgery itself is technically difficult and challenging to the surgeon and post-operative recovery and rehab requires dedicated effort and can take many months of effort.
Specialised surgical equipment, prosthetic implants and surgical techniques are utilised during revision knee replacement surgery. As such, this type of surgery is markedly different from typical “primary” (first time) knee replacement surgery.
